Short Description of the structure The basilica was built between 1369 and 1391, by order of Raimondello Orsini del Balzo. The building was built on a pre-existing Byzantine church of Greek rite dating back to the IX-X century. The interior walls of the church are entirely covered with wonderful frescoes by artists from the Giotto and Sienese schools, made in the fifteenth century. Guided tours are possible at the times indicated. It's possible to visit the cloister of the adjacent monastery and the Diocesan Museum.
